Hong Kong is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the whole world. With a history that reads like a classic
novel, there's so much to see and do here. A cosmopolitan city with a population of seven million, spreading over Hong
Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, New Territories and over 260 outlying islands, there are many beautiful island tours to

				Sai Kung

Hong Kong’s Sai Kung district is an adventurer’s dream, with outdoor activities on offer and
remote islands to explore. Known as the "back garden of Hong Kong", Sai Kung has been able to retain its
natural scenery, and where the Hong Kong Global Geopark is located. Behind the modern buildings, a
lot of traditional customs and cultures are still retained in the rural villages. As a former fishing
village, Sai Kung Town is a mecca for seafood lovers, locals and tourists alike.

				Tai Long Wan for Surfing

Tai Long Wan is a 3 kilometer-wide bay on the east coast of the Sai Kung Peninsula. Considered one of the
most beautiful places in Hong Kong, it is a popular surf destination. In Chinese, Tai Long Wan translates
as Big Wave Bay, which indicates its strong currents. It is a large bay with white sand beaches flanked by
rugged headlands, backed by abandoned fields beyond which rise some impressive hills. There are rocky islets
offshore; beyond them is the South China Sea (Mirs Bay); in onshore winds the swell is indeed impressive, all the
more so as the sea is relatively unpolluted, and can be a splendid tropical blue or turquoise.

				Shek O Village in colors

Shek O Village has a history of some 200 years. It was established by fishermen. Most of buildings are
painted with different colors, which is quite attractive. Shek O Beach is a sandy public beach at Shek O.
The water quality is fair and is gazetted Grade 2. It is a popular weekend and holiday destination, offering
a public barbecue area and many restaurants. The rocky cliffs provide an excellent place for sports
climbing. Due to the isolated location of Shek O, the environment near the beach remains rustic and quiet,
which is one of the area’s main attractions?

Lamma Island, where west meets east

Lamma Island is the third largest island in Hong Kong. Lamma is peaceful and tranquil with an
abundance of natural scenery. Buildings higher than three storeys are prohibited and there are no automobiles
but diminutive fire trucks and ambulances, as well as distinctive open-back vehicles to transport construction
materials. The community's only means of transport is either by foot or bicycle. Lamma provides an alternative
to the hectic life in the city. Property and rents are cheap compared with those of central Hong Kong. These
factors have attracted a significant expatriate community to Lamma Island. It is also popular with younger
people and a haven for artists and musicians.Yung Shue Wan (Banyan Bay) is the most populated area on Lamma
Island. There are seafood restaurants, pubs, grocery stores and shops which sell oriental and Indian-style
            handicraft.

				Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark

Hong Kong’s modern cityscape belies its wealth of natural green resources. Our bustling metropolis has more
than 40 per cent of its land designated as protected green areas. In addition to providing a habitat for our
myriad flora and fauna, this verdant countryside is home to world-class rock formations and other
interesting geological features. Most of these sites are in close proximity to the city, so visitors can
easily reach them for a pleasurable and educational outdoor experience.
